Dialog between Marco Corsi and Giovanni Turria

From Giudici to Zanzotto, from Sereni to De Angelis and up to new generations, various have been the forms of collaborations between poets and painters or engravers in the creation of illustrated books, portfolios, or artist books. A brief rendezvous within these territories allows us a reflection on the relationship between word and image, and permits us to reconstruct some turning points of the literary and artistic scenes of the second half of the twentieth century.

This will be possible also thanks to a glimpse of the artistic education and the experience of the workshop of Typography of the Scuola di Grafica dell’indirizzo di Editoria e Grafica d’Arte per il Libro (Academy of Fine Arts of Venice).

Marco Corsi was born in Toscana in 1985 and now lives in Milan, where he works in the publishing industry. He contributed to the PRIN research project “Verba Picta,” working on the analysis of art editions of Italian poets from the 1950 to the 2000s. His latest poetry book, Nel dopo, was published by Guanda in 2025.

Giovanni Turria works with prints and art editions as author, printmaker, typographer and teacher. From the 1990s onwards, he has participated in the most important national and international events on artistic graphic design. He was invited to the special project for the  Padiglione Italia at the 54th Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte della Biennale di Venezia.
